Dunne was the Main Contractor on the new Liebherr Scottish HQ project, which comprised of a new office and works factory with associated hard-standings and infrastructure. The project was on a 40 week contract and was successfully completed in April ’11 to Liebherr UK.
The building which provides 825m² of office space and 1175m² of factory floor is a steel portal frame enveloped by a composite metal roof, wall cladding, curtain walling and windows, brick and blockwork with polycarbonate rooflights.
The high specification office fit out is split over 3 levels and includes full M, E &P, tiling, skim plaster and decoration works which are accessed via the 2 stairwells and 3 stop lift.
The factory is accessed via 3no large overhead sectional doors, with purpose installations such as the ABUS gantry crane, Balzer access pit and loading anchor point to service the specialised plant operations.
The external hard-standings are primarily RC slabs, with a tarmacadam parking area to the front of the building and block paviour footways. There are separator foul and storm drainage systems which include the formation of a 255m² stormcell to manage a 1 in 100 year storm and a 36,000 litre rain-water harvesting tank.
The site is enclosed by new boundary retaining wall with a Berry steel buffa barrier installed and new gate access with illuminated Totem signage erected to the facility.
